History

Atlanta University of Health Science (AUHS) was established in October 2015 as an independent institution of higher learning in Duluth, Georgia. The institution was authorized by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) to operate in the state of Georgia in April 2016 and offer a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

In 2017, the university’s Certificate in Massage Therapy and Certificate in Pharmacy Technician were approved by GNPEC. That same year, AUHS obtained authorization from the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to issue Form I-20 to international students and enroll nonimmigrant student F-1 visa holder.

In order to ensure that it continues to provide quality education and that students receive the best possible learning experience, AUHS undertook numerous initiatives to reach a new level of educational excellence. In this endeavor, the institution expanded its programs to include a Bachelor of Business Administration, approved by GNPEC in April 2018 and SEVP the same year.

AUHS moved to facility on Duluth and Suwanee, GA and was granted Applicant Status for Accreditation by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) in February 2020.
